Phil Marwood gets the "go ahead" from Universal Music and Mory Kante to release his remix of YEKE YEKE!

After over a year of follow ups and negotiations, Universal Music and artist Mory Kante have granted approval for the release of Phil Marwood's remix of Yeke Yeke via label Soundtrack Recordings!

The remix was posted as a free download earlier this year with a 100 download cap which was reached in less then 6 hours. The official release will be end of January 2013 exclusively on Traxsource.

A remix of Mory Kanté's hit from the 80's, YEKE YEKE!

In 1994 when the German techno duo Hardfloor smashed it out of the park! And since then it's been remixed HUNDREDS of times over. No one has been able to capture the essence of the song since the Hardfloor remix (also used in the paradise classic movie, The Beach, with Leonardo Dicaprio)

Phil's version hopefully brings the track back down to where it belongs...in our hearts.

The track (r)evolves and flips on its side when local artist SKI drops a brilliant original spoken piece conceptualizing Revolution as a unit of time in our digital world.

In typical Phil Marwood style, a deep and chuggy gem that really moves, accentuated by a delicate and wandering xylophone line, makes this a tasty treat for dancefloors.
